The main author and developer of FreeMix (and currently the only one):

Alberto Botti (a.k.a. "ath")
a student in Computer Science at the  University of Brescia, hopelessly late with exams. When he's not installing  some obscure operating system on  some obsolete PC or he's not uselessly risking his life trying to get his  crappy car under the current record on some  nearby mountain road, he works on FreeMix. He listens to many different kinds of music, primarily dance music, expecially  Vocal Trance. A long time ago, he did DJ-ing and in a precedent life was involved in some homegrown productions (AthProject?, Masters Of Distortion,... in collaboration with DJ Forti and Oscar G.). A long-standing  GNOME user, it works mainly with C and Python under GNU/Linux (but if forced to, he'll write something in Java, Bash, or in a long-forgotten  '85 BASIC dialect). When he doesn't have anything else to do, he works in the webmaster team of  http://www.yoda2000.net.

Testers:

Francesco Guerra (a.k.a. "war3333")
this brave man spent a lot of time while porting FreeMix to Apple's OS X (not caring about  what could have happened while fighting with Apple's linker).

Contributors:

Marco Ciampa (a.k.a. "ciampix")
a member of the GNOME Italian translation team, he offered hosting for FreeMix (ciampix.net is currently running on his K6-2 machine), and encouraged ath to work on this almost-forgotten project.
